MIMETICA Ceramicas: reflejos y refracciones by Andrea Anastasio

Mimeticais the first Spanish exhibition by Andrea Anastasio, an internationally recognized Italian philosopher and designer, which will take place at the headquarters of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura. Collections of ceramic works created for Ceramiche Gatti 1928, the historic art workshop in Faenza of which Anastasio has been Artistic Director since 2017, will be exhibited: Riflessi di Alta Quota (2018), Esodi(2019), gli Intervalli(2019), Volpedo(2018), Auree (2018). Each of these collections explores unprecedented relationships between our technological present, fragmented and accelerated, and the multiple forms with which decorative arts and pre-industrial artefacts have interpreted, in the past, collective values, concrete needs, human aspirations and symbolic universe.
The exhibition will involve all three exhibition rooms on the main floor of the building, Palacio de Abrantes. The room called Bianca will be reserved for the following collections designed for the Bottega Gatti of Faenza: Auree – Volpedo – Trottole – Battuti – Intervalli – Esodi.
The room called Belvedere will contain three medieval Islamic ceramics with metallic luster from the MAO of Turin, around which the Craterie i Lustridi Alta Quota will represent the contemporary of this material.
The third room called Mirrors will be set up with Frieze, Intervallo and Battiti with the help of Foscarini, reflection on ceramics and light.
